Wat Phra Chetuphon wimonmankalaram Rajamahawihan or Wat Pho
Location : At the rear of the Grand Palace, Thanon Sanamchai, Phranakorn district
Built under the royal command of King Rama I together with the Grand Palace, this is Thailand's most significant first class monastery. Wat Pho is also recognized as the first university in Thailand as it collects records of various branches of knowledge since King Rama III. The temple has 99 chedis--the largest number of pagodas in Thailand. Also found here is the rishi or hermit statues in 24 positions of massage sciences that make Wat Pho famous in this field.
