Location : Near the Navy Base, Arun Amarin Rd., Wat Arun, Bangkok Yai District
Originally called Wat Makok, an old monastery of Ayuthaya period, it was renovated by King Taksin of Thonburi and renamed it Wat Jaeng. The temple was renovated again in the reign of Rattanakosin's King Rama II and King Rama IV who adjusted its name to Wat Arun Rajawararam.
Boating aljong the Chao Phraya is a highlight to admire Wat Arun.
